The Biggest Loser for Wii and Nintendo DS coming this Fall, says THQ

The Biggest Loser, the television program in which overweight contestants compete to lose the highest percentage of body weight is coming to the gaming world as THQ announces that the game ‘The Biggest Loser’ is in development for the Wii and Nintendo DS and is expected to release in the fall of 2009. The game is based on the NBC television show and features comprehensive workouts from trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.

“The hardest part of getting in shape and staying fit is knowing what to do, as well as maintaining the desire to stick with it,” explained The Biggest Loser trainer, Bob Harper. “The Biggest Loser video game incorporates years of research and proven results taken from The Biggest Loser television show. This program offers personalized fitness and nutrition goals to give players the tools they need to lose weight and keep it off. ”


The Biggest Loser video game has detailed nutrition goals and carefully planned workouts to assist players to get in shape and keep fit. Alison Sweeney, the host of the television show, will also appear in the Wii and Nintendo DS games. Players can choose between a 4, an 8 or a 12-week program and either challenge a friend or take on past contestants of the television show. The workout sessions include cardio exercises, yoga exercises, plus lower and upper as well as core body exercises and players can even create their own workouts. The game tracks and documents progress on a calendar and even when not playing the game, players can receive credit for activities such as taking a bike ride or going for a walk or jog.


In addition, the game features 50 recipes for healthy eating so that players can have the diet for optimal weight loss. Trainers will also add their useful tips during the Wii workout program to help players stay on track and reach their goals.


So far no exact release dates or prices for the Wii or the Nintendo DS versions of The Biggest Loser video game have been announced.
