Alienware M17x Laptop from Dell Unveiled

Alienware is an American computer hardware company which was taken over by Dell some time ago. Now Dell announces a new laptop called the Alienware M17x which is plugged as “the most powerful laptop in the universe” by the company. With this launch, Alienware’s global reach has been extended to 35 countries from a previous 6.

The notebook can be configured to run with Dual 1 GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M Graphics Processing Units. A fully loaded M17x can have 8 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM, a nine cell battery, an Nvidia GeForce 9400M G GPU with HybridPower technology, and a dual-layer Blu-ray Disc Drive. Additionally the notebook can have an Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core CPU, 802.11n (2×2) Wi-Fi and an LCD display with 1920 by 1020 resolution. Users can also add a 1 TB 7200 rpm hard disc drive or a 512 GB Solid-state Drive in Raid 0 configuration.

The Alienware M17x is a very powerful laptop and can easily rival most PC gaming stations out there. But such a label doesn’t come easy and the notebook is expected to be very power hungry and heavy on the pocket. Prices or release dates for the Alienware M17x have not been mentioned, but the Dell website lists the starting price as 1799 USD (approx. Rs. 85,650).
